The Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman overflew the area and inspected the progress of construction work on the road connecting Kyiv and Znamyanka, as the central regions of Ukraine. The Head of Government, in particular, checked the condition of the roadbed along the sections of the most intense traffic, as well as visited the site where the bridge over the Dnipro River in Cherkassy and the dam on the Zolotonosha - Cherkasy - Smila - Uman section are being reconstructed.
During the trip, the Head of Government noted that the planned road overhaul activities are carried out in a proper way and comply with the deadlines. The financial component has also been provided. This year, the "road" budget makes up over UAH 30 billion, and next year, taking into account the launch of the Road Fund, it will increase up to UAH 44-45 billion. In addition, according to Volodymyr Groysman, a significant resource has been transferred to the regions due to the decentralization reform.
The Prime Minister drew attention to the fact that projects of road repair activities should not only take into account the transport needs of the regions, but also offer comprehensive solutions aimed at reducing the inconvenience posed to the residents of the territories subjected to reconstruction activities. In this regard, the Head of Government urged local authorities to account for suggestions of citizens in the process of shaping road plans and performing work.
According to the Prime Minister, it is of utmost importance to accelerate the execution of work, inter alia to put objects into operation before the end of the year and before deterioration of weather conditions.
“We are currently drafting an action plan for the next year. And a key guideline for us will be an effective use of funds instead of just spending money – we must ensure Ukrainians drive along quality roads," underscored the Prime Minister.
