Transparent sale of state assets not being of strategic importance for the state's economy is viewed to become an effective tool to leverage investment, to attract technology and to create workplaces in Ukraine, Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman was quoted as saying.
"I advocate open sales. This would enable the country to attract investments, create new jobs, develop new technologies and production, "said Volodymyr Groysman.
He added that small scale privatization is conducted through the ProZorro platform allowing to make all the procedures in online mode. "It is crucial for me to secure success for enterprises and entrepreneurs," the Head of Government added.
In mid-September, the Government in synergy with experts introduced a new version of the draft law on privatization in Ukraine, designed to change approaches to the sale of enterprises, the protection of investors' rights, to allow for the establishment of advisers and for the applying the fundamentals of English law to the privatization process. The Prime Minister, Volodymyr Groysman, believes the draft law be passed by the end of the year, thus its norms will come in effect from January 2018 for Ukraine to trigger a new wave of large-scale privatization of state-owned assets.
