  • State Secretary of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine holds talks with foreign senior advisers

    State Secretary State Secretary of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine Colonel General Oleksandr Dublyan held talks with foreign senior advisers Jill Sinclair (Canada) and Sir Nick Parker (the UK).

    The parties discussed the implementation of democratic civil control within the Ukrainian army.

    “In order to realize the statements of the Strategic Defence Bulletin the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine drafted the Action Plan for Implementation of Defence Reform in 2016-2020 — a roadmap of the reforms among the tasks of which is the development of an effective democratic civil control over defence forces. Such effective democratic civil control will enable the Ministry to achieve maximum effect of resources use and defence tasks accomplishment, will contribute to the establishment of effective cooperation and coordination among all links and agents of the security and defence system”, Colonel General Oleksandr Dublyan stressed.

    The meeting participants considered the issues of reorganization of the Ukraine’s Ministry of Defence and General Staff structure under the NATO standards.
