The Government of Ukraine is committed to ensuring resounding support and protection of the interests of investors and is ready to comprehensively promote the implementation of infrastructure and logistics projects, as this will enable Ukraine to become a significant part of the global economy and continental transport corridors. This statement was issued by Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman during a meeting with the leadership of the global logistics giant «Hutchison Ports» and the Qatar Airways airline.

The company «Hutchison Ports» is one of the world’s leading port network, it manages 48 major ports in 25 countries and has a great interest in developing container business in the Ukrainian port of Chornomorsk. Negotiations on the implementation of joint logistics projects were held at various venues, inter alia during an investment conference in London this July.

Qatar Airways has been named the best airline in the world for 2016 and on August 28, 2017, the first departure from Doha to Boryspil was carried out.

«We are interested in providing comprehensive support for the implementation of transport infrastructure development projects in Ukraine. I want to express my gratitude for the practical interest in cooperation. Ukraine is a very good choice», stressed the Prime Minister.

The Head of Government accentuated Ukraine has ample logistical opportunities, but they require attention and development. That is why specific projects aimed at improving the quality and safety of domestic infrastructure and port development are priorities for the Government. In this context, expanding capacities, for example, container transportation, first of all, in the port of Chornomorsk, will become an additional incentive for development both for Ukrainian  and foreign companies, and in addition, will allow to create new jobs and attract direct investments and new logistics technologies.

He briefed foreign partners about the creation of a working group for the development of new concession legislation. The draft law "On Concessions" has already been elaborated and as the Head of Government noted, it will be in the short run submitted for consideration to the Parliament. Such legislation will stimulate further cooperation and allow investors to use different business development tools.

In the course of the meeting with the leadership of Qatar Airways, the Prime Minister placed a special emphasis to the fact Ukraine, with its geographical position, fully fits into the development strategy of Qatar Airways, and Boryspil, the largest international airport in Ukraine, which plans to exceed the passenger traffic figure of 10 million passengers a year, may become a peculiar hub between Europe, Asia and the Middle East. There is all the more reason for this as the demand for flights to the Middle East is increasing.

We are interested in creating qualitative conditions of development of your company in Ukraine. Also we will be in turn grateful for the offer of Ukraine in Qatar», Volodymyr Groysman told during the meeting with the management of the company and offered to the leadership of Qatar Airways to consider the possibility of flights to other cities of Ukraine.

The Prime Minister drew attention to the fact that arrival of the authoritative companies in Ukraine is a signal for the whole world as about trust to the Government and business environments, and about belief in prospects of the Ukrainian economy.
