Volodymyr Groysman congratulated police officers on professional holiday
Dear law enforcement officers!
This year we
celebrate Ukraine's National Police Day for the
second time. Over the last two years a new law enforcement system based on
the supremacy of law and legal order has been built in Ukraine. The process that we
kicked off is still underway,
but I am sure - it is
irreversible.
Being a policeman is
more than a job, it's a vocation.
To serve people, to be
ready to prevent crime, to help in
a trouble, to forestall a disaster, sometimes at the
risk of own
life, not everyone is able
to do it.
I am proud that today we
have hundreds of thousands of
people who are ready to
serve and protect.
On the occasion
of this remarkable
day, I would like to express
my immense gratitude to
those
who undertook an extremely important
mission and laid the foundations
for reforming the national police
– Minister of Internal
Affairs of Ukraine Arsen Avakov
and Head of the National
Police of Ukraine Serhii Knyazev. Your efforts
in ensuring order and security
on the streets,
comfort in homes of citizens
were not fruitless. Indeed, for the last
year the level of infractions
in Ukraine has decreased significantly.
This
year, at the initiative of the Government,
salaries were increased for employees
of the criminal
investigation. We allocate funds for material and
technical re-equipment of the police.
And I'm sure
this is only the beginning.
A honest police officer should have a decent salary.
I want to
express words of gratitude to
everyone who wears a police badge, to those
officers who go on patrol
and are committed
to sacrifice their own health and
even life in order to
prevent a crime. I wish You sound
health, strength, lots of luck,
inspiration in daily work, happiness and welfare.
Your success is our country’s
sucess. Happy Holiday!
Sincerely
Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman
