  • Ukrainian and British police to cooperate in the fight against organized crime

    The National Police of Ukraine together with the UK police will collaborate in the fight against organized criminality. This was announced by the leadership of the National Police in the course of a joint working meeting with representatives of the Embassy of the United Kingdom to Ukraine.

    Moreover, the sides tackled the priority issues and promising areas for further cooperation concerning the fight against crime.

    According to the Head of the National Police of Ukraine Serhii Knyazev cooperation between law enforcement agencies of Ukraine and Great Britain should be operational and effective.

    "We are open and ready for collaboration," Serhii Knyazev asserted and added the National Police is keen on discussing the issues pertaining to the cooperation.

    In turn, liaison officer of the National Crime Agency Patrick Torkington emphasized that among the central issues which are of great interest for Great Britain are offences of law falling under the category of organized crime.

    Apart from that, the interlocutors agreed on an exchange of experience. Hence, in the near future officers of the National Police of Ukraine will undergo training in the UK, where they will adopt practices of British partners in the fight against organized crime.

    It should be noted that representatives of OSCE Project Coordination in Ukraine provided 194 items of specialized equipment to the cyber police units of the National Police of Ukraine.
