Chief of General Staff Army General Viktor Muzhenko
discussed the current state and progress of bilateral military cooperation
and reforms of the Ukrainian army with Mrs Laura
Cooper, Acting Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defence
for International Security Policy.
“We are grateful for US Government attention to the
situation in Ukraine, your assistance and support,” General Muzhenko mentioned, “Advisory consultations provided
by the US advisers, as well as personnel training in Lviv oblast strengthen the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
We feel this support every day and value it.”
According to the Chief of General Staff, about 4,000 service
members have undergone training at the International Peacekeeping and
Security Centre since 2015.
The parties focused on discussion of practical realization
of bilateral military cooperation, particularly on prospects
of activities of the Multinational Joint Coordination Committee for
Military Cooperation and Defence Reforms, development
of professional NCOs, logistics, and medical care.
