An elaborated by the Government draft land reform is undergoing
extensive discussion with participation of experts, public organizations and
farmers' associations, since it is important to adopt a package of rational and
landmark decisions on this issue. This was announced by Prime Minister of
Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman
during a teleconference from London within the framework of the official visit
to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
«The land reform must be implemented in order to protect exceptionally
the interests of Ukrainian citizens. We want the said reform to be a
development instrument for farming. The Government is in a permanent dialogue
with the public and we receive a feedback. We will engage in discussion until
we find a solution that will be shaped in the interests of the citizens»,
highlighted the Head of Government.
The Prime Minister put a special emphasis to the fact that the land
reform is included in a list of structural beacons under the Extended Fund
Facility agreement between Ukraine and the International Monetary Fund.
However, these transformations are needed not only to the creditors and
partners, but to Ukraine, in order to strengthen the economy and to change the
quality of life. Among such reforms are not only the land reform, but also a
pension reform and a state property management reform.
«Without changes we will not be able to build a new country»,
underscored Volodymyr Groysman.
