On 4 July 2017 the Embassy of Ukraine in the Republic of Latvia hosted an expert discussion on hybrid warfare and information aggression of Kremlin against Ukraine with the participation of co-founder of the international organisation Global Ukraine Maksym Kyiak, Executive Director of the Social Relations Center Yevhen Magda and Deputy Chairman of the Baltic – Black Sea Alliance Alex Grigorjevs.
The discussion was focused on the hybrid warfare of Russia against Ukraine. In particular, the participants exchanged views on information elements and media influence on social consciousness.
Experts drew parallels between the events of “Bronze night” in Estonia in 2007, the war of the Kremlin against Georgia in 2008 and recent Russian aggression against Ukraine. The Ukrainian experts shared the results of their studies about the Kremlin aggression during the last decade and offered their forecasts and recommendations for the future.
Among the guest who attended the discussion there were journalists, researchers, scholars, public figures, Ukrainian community.
Maksym Kyiak and Yevhen Magda arrived in Riga to take part in The Riga StratCom Dialogue 2017 to discuss the future of strategic communication and information warfare.
