Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman and Prime Minister of
Israel Benjamin Netanyahu discussed in the course of the meeting on Monday
which was held in the framework of the Prime Minister’s official visit to the
State of Israel prospects for deepening bilateral cooperation in the sectors of
Information technology and cybersecurity, science and
education, agriculture and tourism.
"Israel and Ukraine are strategic partners, we have many areas for effective
collaboration, stressed Volodymyr Groysman, particularly in agricultural and IT
sectors, in science, education, and health care spheres, where we can achieve
shared experience and spectacular result."
Moreover, in IT sphere, Ukraine is interested in introducing digital
services in the public sector, involving technical and expert assistance in the
establishment of the state network providing broadband access to the Internet,
stressed Volodymyr Groysman, also underlining the necessity to enhance cooperation
in combating cyber-crime and cyber -terrorism.
Ukraine is mostly interested in expanding cooperation with Israel in the
field of science and research, innovation, exchange of experience in the field
of public and private support of the latest scientific and technical
developments, startups," stressed the Prime Minister.
While speaking about the cooperation in the field of science and
research, Volodymyr Groysman suggested the Israeli side to establish
appropriate cooperation between the National Council for the development of
science and technologies, established in April 2017, under his chairmanship,
and relevant institutions of Israel. He also called for the intensification of
efforts aimed to hold in the nearest future the First meeting of the Joint
Committee on the implementation of the Program for Scientific and Technological
Cooperation between the Government of Ukraine and the Government of the State
of Israel signed in December 2015, as well as to elaborate and sign of the
Program for Cooperation in education, science, culture, youth and sports
spheres between Ukraine and Israel for 2017-2019.
Apart from that, Volodymyr Groysman stressed the necessity to increase
cooperation in the field of agriculture, to further strengthen of bilateral
trade and also urged to consider the possibility to boost Ukrainian exporting
of quality and affordable agricultural products and food industry to Israel’s
market, in particular, he urged Israeli side to resume the export of Ukrainian
eggs canteens in and to remove the corresponding ban.
According to the Head of Ukrainian Government, the further
liberalization of the air transport market as well as the removal of any
restrictions concerning number of flights on the routes between countries are
considered to be the major priorities pertaining to cooperation between Israel
and Ukraine.
Volodymyr Groysman drew a peculiar attention to the fact that Ukraine is
interested to establish fruitful cooperation with Israel in tourism sphere. In
this context, Prime Minister offered to hold regular meeting of
Ukrainian-Israeli working group on cooperation in tourism sphere.
