  • Cabinet of Ministers intends to increase funding for the Available Medicine program up to UAH 750 million, system will function, assures Prime Minister

    The Government intends to increase funding for the government program Available Medicines, which was triggered on April 1 and provides free medicines for chronic patients with bronchial asthma, diabetes, heart diseases by the sum worth UAH 250 million, announced Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman on air of TV channel "112.UA".

    “We adapted transparent system which operates in the West and implemented it in Ukraine. We are aware of complex issues and we are working on aforesaid issues. The sum worth of 250 UAH million has been additionally allocated– to the end of the year funds will be allocated to the tune of UAH 750 million it should be enough for us”, stressed the Head of Government.  We are not satisfied with what has already been achieved. The list of medicines under the program of reimbursement should be expanded because this system is the most open."

    Volodymyr Groysman emphasized that the challenging questions are still remaining in the process of the implementation of the Available Medicine program. “The system has been working only for one month, thereby it’s obviously that it will be not easy especially due to the fact that pharmacy chains are also being engaged in the process. I assure, the Government has budgeted sufficient resources to ensure full implementation of the program,” underscored the Prime Minister.
