
Vice Prime Minister: Trade turnover between Ukraine and China totaled USD 6.5.billion
Bilateral
trade turnover between Ukraine and China amounted to USD 6.5. billion in 2016. Herewith the European Union imports
consumer goods from China to the tune of $ 300 billion. The considerable part
of commodity flow might be going through territory of Ukraine which is a
country with unique geographical advantages and development potential. We are
committed to offer mutually beneficial investment projects as well as
directions. From the cooperation in point projects we need to switch to
comprehensive collaboration in the framework of the strategic Ukrainian-Chinese
project “One Belt One Road”. This was stated by Vice Prime Minister/ Minister
of Regional Development, Construction, Housing and Utilities of Ukraine Hennadii Zubko during the opening
of the Chinese-Ukrainian cultural exchanges week “One Belt -One Road”.
He
emphasized that the project ”One Belt - One Road” is a strategy of global
development of China with other countries and one of the ambitious and
promising projects of the XXI century.
"The
possibility of cooperation and participation in the project "One Belt -
One Road" is of paramount importance both for the development of Ukrainian
economy and for relations with China. The aforesaid project is aimed to revive
the spirit of the Silk Road, to enhance “ergonomics” of the Chinese-Ukrainian
markets. The Silk Road is an investment
artery that connects Central Asia with Europe as well as with the rest of the
world. Ukraine is the first European country on this path. We pledge readiness
to make our contribution inter alia technological optimization of
infrastructure and transport systems of Eurasia in order to provide impetus for
the growth of the world economy", stressed the Vice Prime Minister.
