The Government has already drafted orders to ensure the execution of the Decision by Ukraine’s National Security and Defence Council about suspending of cargo shipment across the line of demarcation and the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine will prolong work over these measures. Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman stated during A Question Time for the Government at the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
"Referring to the decision of the NSDC, it was announced yesterday, we have appropriate orders today. The Government shall work on these measures envisaged by the Council’s decision. This is a mandatory procedure," he said.
The Prime Minister noted that temporary halt of coal deliveries had resulted in grave problems in energy sector and economy of the country.
He reminded that the 4th quarter of 2016 demonstrated a 4.7% GDP growth totalling 2.2 % for the year.
Ukraine would exceed the forecast of economic growth by 3% in 2017, "but for that purpose we need to take the statist position, instead of following a lead of our enemy that wants to exhaust our economy", Volodymyr Groysman aired his thoughts.
The GDP performance also affects financing of the army, he added.
"I was warning that we would have our energy resources, our mines on our territory blocked, but I would never have thought it would have happened with involvement of Ukrainian citizens. Most unfortunately, this blockade was against the Ukrainian state", he stressed.
