Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman appealed to Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine Volodymyr Omelyan and stressed on the need to ensure appropriate organization and launch of activities on repair and construction of roads. The Government plans to mobilize for this purpose UAH 35 billion during the year. He said during the Government meeting on Thursday.

"I call on the Minister to ensure proper organization of work to restore destroyed roads in the country," he stressed.

The Head of Government highlighted that there had been budgeted a sufficient resource - a twofold amount as compared to last year - to launch a major overhaul of road network in the country.

Thus, from overfulfilment of targets from customs for two months of 2017 an additional UAH 1.5 billion sum has been directed for Ukrainian roads. Along with UAH 14 billion planned in the budget and extra UAH 15 billion from repurposing – in total "about UAH 35 billion is the amount we will be able to mobilize during the year".

"We possess enough money to commence the process. Just organize the work properly, inspect the roads and find out what is the state of affairs to trigger activities of line services across the country in this direction", urged the Prime Minister.

In the medium term the situation will be resolved, he promised.
