Prime Minister of Ukraine and Minister of Economic Development of Azerbaijan discussed the prospects of deepening trade-economic cooperation between the States

Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman
on Monday had a meeting with Minister of Economic Development of the Republic
of Azerbaijan Shahin Mustafayev.
The parties tackled possible ways to enhance collaboration in trade and
economic spheres between the States and increase in trade turnover, new
potential areas of bilateral partnership.
The sides
noted that the level of economic and trade cooperation has a great potential
for the development.
Among the promising areas for deepening interaction Volodymyr
Groysman and Shahin Mustafayev, in particular, singled out mechanical
engineering, aircraft construction, chemical industry, agriculture and tourism,
including medical tourism.
"We
are completely open for your business", stressed Volodymyr
Groysman. He briefed his interlocutor about the
Government's actions to improve the investment climate in Ukraine, namely the
establishment of the Investment Support Office.
The Prime
Minister noted that in October there would be summoned a regular meeting of the joint Ukrainian-Azerbaijani intergovernmental commission for economic cooperation.
In turn, Shahin Mustafayev said that day
there had taken place an opening of the Ukrainian-Azerbaijani business forum
and in its framework business circles of Azerbaijan and Ukraine had had a
meeting.
"This
forum is underway - we have just opened it up with my colleagues. The political
will is present, the legal framework has already been developed, all
preconditions to ensure further development of economic cooperation provided by
the two governments", said the Minister of Economic Development of
Azerbaijan.
Speaking
about bilateral partnership, the Minister of Economic Development of the
Republic of Azerbaijan highlighted the prospects of their development in the
field of engineering. "This is an important direction. We would like to
use the experience of Ukraine and set up joint ventures in Azerbaijan", he
said.
Apart from
that, the interlocutors touched upon perspectives to increase transit potential
of the countries. Volodymyr Groysman
expressed Ukraine's interest in the use of Trans-Caspian international
transport route aimed to raise the intensity of the movement of goods.
Prime
Minister of Ukraine noted that he had initiated the summit of GUAM member
countries due on March 27 with the participation of Deputy Prime Minister of
Azerbaijan Ismet Abasov. At
the summit there will be signed documents on bilateral trade between Ukraine
and Azerbaijan.
