On Thursday Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman held a meeting that was devoted to the issues of promoting specialized automotive equipment industry in Ukraine.
The meeting participants pondered, in particular, on the plans to satisfy the needs of state agencies in the specialized vehicles.
Following the discussion, the Prime Minister commissioned First Vice Prime Minister/ Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine Stepan Kubiv and the National Industry Development Committee to develop a system of incentives to spur industrial production in Ukraine.
"We need a high-quality system to stimulate domestic production", stressed Volodymyr Groysman.
"Through such systemic steps we will definitely restore the Ukrainian economy", he accentuated.
The Prime Minister considers that a 4.7% GDP growth in the 4th quarter of 2016 was another clear proof that "we can ramp up economic growth rather fast, including such approaches, when we invest in the Ukrainian economy, Ukrainian technique, people receive wages, we get a quality product and taxes to the Ukrainian budget."
Separately, Volodymyr Groysman stressed on the necessity to ensure high quality of the equipment being produced and purchased.
"It is vital for us to achieve the high quality of production. For anyone who uses the machinery it is necessary to transport and rescue people”, said Volodymyr Groysman. “With each vehicle that has passed the whole production cycle the quality must be improved. This will allow us, apart from other things, to expand the horizons of export potential of our domestic mechanical engineering".
Considering the needs to renew fleet of firefighting equipment, the Head of Government noted it was crucial to elaborate a medium-term programme of such purchases.
The Prime Minister reminded that on January 23 he had summoned a meeting dedicated to the issues of specialized vehicles production in Ukraine and set the task to draft the flow chart demonstrating the needs of the country in the purchase of vehicles, “starting with areas of security and defence and ending with the road sector".
"It's of great importance for me to preserve maximum localization. Everything that we purchase for public funds should have a serious impact on the economy of our state. All the equipment that we purchase should be manufactured to the fullest degree by our Ukrainian enterprises. The main thing that it would not be semi knocked down assembly of vehicles, but the assembly, spare parts at the level of 60% or higher would be produced by Ukrainian enterprises. This means jobs for people and wages", urged Volodymyr Groysman at the meeting.
In the event were participating First Vice Prime Minister/ Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine Stepan Kubiv, Minister of Finance of Ukraine Olexander Danyliuk, First Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine Maksym Nefiodov, Chairman of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine Mykola Chechiotkin, the leadership of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Ministry of Internal Affairs, PJSC "AutoKrAZ" and PJSC “SJSC" Motor Roads of Ukraine".
