The Government has taken
all necessary measures to prevent or minimize any power failures, said Prime
Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman at an extraordinary Government meeting
on Wednesday during which the Cabinet announced the introduction of emergency
measures in the energy system of the country.
"Blackouts will
occur only in extreme cases and we will certainly inform about it in advance –
it is out of question nowadays. But we will do everything in power", stressed
Volodymyr Groysman following adoption by the Government of the ordinance
"On introducing temporary emergency measures on the electricity
market".
The Government
introduces these extraordinary measures in order to prevent or minimize any
outages, explained the Prime Minister.
"We
will spare no effort. I wish all Ukrainian citizens understand me. We will
manage the system in such a way as to mitigate any negative consequences for
Ukrainian citizens", he emphasized.
