On 15 February outgoing Ambassador of Ukraine to Latvia Yevgen Perebyinis paid a farewell visit to Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Latvia Edgars Rinkēvičs.
The Ambassador thanked the Minister for strong and invariable support by the Republic of Latvia of territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine both in bilateral relations and on the international level. The parties commended the active bilateral dialogue and prospects for its further deepening.
The Latvian Minister underlined his country’s interestedness in facilitation of economic ties with Ukraine, having remarked the positive dynamics of trade and economic cooperation in 2016. With that regard the Minister stressed on significant prospects of multi-modal connections between the Baltic, Black and Caspian Sea transit routes.
Edgars Rinkēvičs expressed hope for granting the visa-free regime to Ukrainian citizens without delay, as it was put in the declaration on the outcomes of the Fourth Eastern Partnership Summit in Riga in 2015.
