Minister of Defence of Ukraine General of the Army of Ukraine Stepan Poltorak held talks with US Ambassador to Ukraine Ms Marie Yovanovych.
The Minister of Defence thanked for the US stance, comprehensive assistance to Ukraine in fighting the Russian aggression.
“We launched comprehensive reforms of our defence ministry. It is important to develop strategic documents and this work is the most complicated,” General Poltorak said, “But the most difficult thing is to implement these reforms, put them into practice. We count on assistance of foreign advisers. I’m sure we’ll do it together”.
According to Stepan Poltorak, 32 advisers from 12 NATO nations as well as five senior advisers from the USA, the UK, Canada, Lithuania, and Germany work in Ukraine and provide qualified consultations, train personnel under the NATO standards.
Ms Marie Yovanovych introduced US advisers who had started their work within the defence ministry.
“I’m proud that we managed to find this experienced team,” she said. “Their joint work experience exceeds 130 years”, the US Ambassador noted.
