In the frames of his working trip to Chernihiv, Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman visited regional Department of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine.
The Head of Government took part in the ceremony of handing over fire-fighting and emergency and rescue equipment to the units of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine of Chernihiv garrison.
Volodymyr Groysman thanked the rescuers for work without holidays: "You are on guard round-the-clock and always ready to save people under any difficult conditions."
The Prime Minister told that in 2017 the wages of rescuers were increased on the average by UAH 2 thousand.
For 2017 it was also planned an unpreсedented sum worth UAH 600 million to purchase new equipment and upgrade old one.
"Our objective is to pay you adequate wages that you earned by your work, to appreciate [your labour – ed.], to timely provide you with necessary equipment, to give the opportunity to get best equipment, protection means and technology to enable you to effectively help people and, most importantly, to stay alive", said the Head of Government.
"I want to assure you of the Government’s commitment to support, to help you be effective. It is crucial to ensure timely response, to prevent and save", he stressed.

the Prime Minister presented to the rescuers awards for courage and bravery,
excellent discharge of duties, dedication and high professionalism during
liquidation of consequences of emergency situations and participation in search
and rescue operations.
