At its meeting on Wednesday http://www.kmu.gov.ua/img/1x1.gifthe Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine is to abolish over 360 regulations and restrictions for businesses aimed at simplifying doing business in Ukraine and giving way for it to rise in the ranking Ease of Doing Business by several dozen positions. This was stated by Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman on opening a Government’s meeting.

"Today, we are to cancel more than 360 different regulations, different regulatory legal acts stipulating for the activities of businesses, enterprises,” stressed Volodymyr Groysman.

The Head of Government noted that many norms had been introduced back in the Soviet Union times. According to him, if we analyze how many penal sanctions were issued or checks held under such regulations, we will realize from what ridiculous things the Ukrainian business is suffering.

The Prime Minister noted that due to the aforesaid decision of the Government, Ukraine would be able to improve its performance in the WB ranking Ease of Doing Business by several dozen positions.

"Rating is good, when a foreign investor looks at the country's ease of doing business index – it is also a criterion for him to make a decision whether he will build a plant in Ukraine or he will think of some other country. That's good. But it is important to ensure each Ukrainian businessman feel more freedom than before", he stressed.

The Government will provide information to the real sector, the associations about the regulations repealed, noted Volodymyr Groysman.

"Gross national product is created by entrepreneurs, the real sector, for which, on the one hand, we should remove obstacles, and on the other hand, to create regulations that would enable us to be competitive. But not the way it sometimes happens, when the authorities artificially cause barriers and the business starts to figure out how to bypass them. This will not improve the environment in the country", said the Prime Minister.

The Prime Minister thanked the line ministries that had been engaged in work on these decisions. He noted that in various ministries there are people who are not interested in deregulation. In this context, the Prime Minister urged everyone to be ready to remove obstacles and barriers, and not to hinder people to live and entrepreneurs to work. This is our main task."

"We will destroy such regulations, while those who oppose will be removed outside activities of our Government," stressed Volodymyr Groysman.
