Vice Prime
Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic integration of Ukraine Ivanna Klympush-Tsintsadze
moderated a regular meeting of the Commission for the Coordination of
Euro-Atlantic integration in the new format. With the purpose of revealing
problematic issues in the implementation of the NATO Trust Funds, in the
meeting there were participating apart from representatives
of ministries and departments responsible for the execution of the trust fund
project a delegation of the NATO Representation in Ukraine led by its
head Alexander Vinnikov.
Ivanna Klympush-Tsintsadze said that to achieve the maximum effect
of the performed activities within the framework of the NATO trust fund
projects, communication should be comprehensive - at the interagency level with
responsible authorized specialist at the strategic, tactical and operational
levels. Therefore, in the near future there will be created a coordination tool
for the implementation of the NATO Trust Fund projects, which is to operate in
the Government Office for European and Euro-Atlantic integration with the
involvement of the Vice-Prime Minister Office.
According
to the participants of the event, among the urgent problems they face in the
process of implementation of the aforesaid projects are inconsistency of
Ukrainian legislation with the procedures in effect in the participating States
of the Alliance in terms of military-technical cooperation, the need to improve
interdepartmental cooperation among the agencies of the military-security
sector, as well as terminological specificity of translation of documents.
NATO Liaison Officer in Ukraine Alexander Vinnikov noted that support of its allies for Ukraine allies is unprecedented, but the key to success still remains in Ukraine. "Yet not all funds have been filled with money, but we are on our way to achieve that," he added.
