Government to initiate amendments to the laws giving priority to Ukrainian products during public procurement, says Volodymyr Groysman
The Government
will push forward changes into legislation thereby granting preference to
Ukrainian products under the same competitive conditions in the process of
public procurement. The Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr
Groysman said in his address to the employees of PJSC
"AutoKrAZ" in Kremenchuk.
"We
will also include the conclusions into national legislation. We believe that keeping
in mind equal conditions of competitiveness Ukrainian products should be
granted preference. This is when we buy for the state funds. This means that if
there are two cars, they cost about the same price and one of them will be ‘KrAZ’, then KrAZ must win,” said Volodymyr Groysman.
The Prime
Minister noted that the Government had set an objective to create normal
conditions to facilitate development of domestic production and increase its
volumes.
"We must
boost the production of domestic goods. We can build airplanes, tractors, cars,
many other things we can produce in the country. I believe that it is a sin that
we do not use our potential, but instead support the economies of other
countries. Our task is to create such opportunities for you to promote the
growth of production, quantity, quality of products, and to provide you with higher
wages as a result," stressed Volodymyr Groysman.
He highlighted
that Ukraine should develop the potential it possesses and those areas it can
ensure competition and conquer new markets.
Thus, 80%
of the car - the produce of PJSC ‘AutoKrAZ’ is of
Ukrainian origin. Cars operate in over 70 countries around the world, said the
Head of Government. Today in Ukraine there is a need for road, municipal machinery.
"Why should we take the chassis and base from other manufacturers, if we
can use the base of our Ukrainian producers?" he asked.
He noted
that growth in national production is a more complicated way that requires more
time and hard work, but "only this is viewed the pledge of stability and
success of the country." Economic growth will provide a decent quality of
life, stressed Volodymyr Groysman.
"Relying
on loans, someone’s assistance we won’t live long. We need a public policy to
promote the creation of new jobs," he said.
"The
national economy, workplaces, a quality product and, consequently, there will
be success that is reinvested in medicine, education, environment,
security," said Volodymyr Groysman.
In the
framework of his working trip to Poltava region, the Prime Minister got
acquainted with production facilities of Public Joint Stock Company ‘AutoKrAZ’.
The Prime
Minister inspected the main types of products, including remote control for military
vehicles, and spoke with workforce representatives.
