Ukraine possesses enough high-tech solutions and the potential to revive
the aviation industry in the country. This was stated by Prime Minister of
Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman during a conversation with journalists at the
Antonov state enterprise.
"Not
every country in the world can build aircrafts. Ukraine has such technological
solutions, has everything to ensure complete production cycle, "from
scratch" to build planes, which are sold all over the world," he
said.
"Today
we have all conditions for the revival of the aircraft industry in Ukraine. I
would prefer that among the symbols of Ukraine there was a Ukrainian plane of
very high quality," stressed Volodymyr Groysman.
The Head of
Government accentuated that the current agenda includes an objective to develop
the opportunities for Ukraine to enhance aircraft building. In particular, it
is crucial to find financial support and “to send up in the sky the Ukrainian
aircraft", as well as to help the Antonov company improve the performance.
He noted that
earlier the development of the Antonov state enterprise had been hindered,
while other aircraft manufacturers had been evolving in this segment, including
companies from Russia. According to him, the aircrafts the company produces
have high operation and design characteristics, as well as comfort and
reliability. "The most important thing is that it is an advanced product,
which Ukraine owns today. These aircrafts are no worse than the analogs of
global manufacturers", highlighted Volodymyr Groysman.
The Prime
Minister noted that the Government is working on restructuring of debts of the
enterprise. In addition, the state finances certain orders fulfilled by the
company for the country. "The idea is as follows - to find the resource,
to provide opportunity to produce planes, these planes should be operated by
Ukraine’s airlines. We have the state-owned company ‘Ukraine’, there are
private companies. We will have a chance to sell airplanes, when we fly them
ourselves. Our current goal is to launch serial manufacture of planes", he
stressed.
The Prime
Minister highlighted that the aircraft building sector is very important in the
context of the development of the national economy, as it triggers new jobs.
Volodymyr
Groysman singled out the need to replace components for the Antonov company,
that had been produced in Russia, and noted that it is possible to ensure 100%
localization of the manufacturing process. "We have opportunities today to
buy components not from Russia, but from other countries instead. It’s no
problem," he said.
Also, it is
viewed as efficient a program of import substitution of components, as
"Ukraine can produce a lot of things on its own," said Volodymyr
Groysman.
On Tuesday,
the Prime Minister visited the state enterprise ‘Antonov’, where he got
familiarized with the process of production of aircraft An-148/158 and examined
the Antonov An-132. He also got acquainted with the work of the Full Flight Simulator (FFS) for An-148 used for training crew members.
