Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Kistion chaired a meeting of the Steering Committee on coordination of work on the preparation of the draft updated Energy Strategy of Ukraine until 2035.

During the event there were heard presentations of preliminary draft Strategies, designed by the National Institute for Strategic Studies and the Razumkov Center. Members of the Committee discussed the possibility of including the solutions of the aforesaid scientific institutions into the final draft of the Strategy.

"This document proves necessary to ensure sustainable development of the energy sector of Ukraine. It is necessary for us to see our target in the medium term and to understand the ways to achieve it," explained Volodymyr Kistion.

According to him, the main document – the draft Strategy - will also be supplemented with appendices that are to become a kind of "roadmaps" for separate stages determined in the Strategy.

Participants of the meeting agreed that the company "McKinsey & Company" will engage in the development of such appendices for the first stage.
