The Government
and the authorities of Ukraine will promote protection and success of foreign
businesses in Ukraine, thereby ensuring economic growth in the country. This
was stated by Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman on opening the French-Ukrainian
business forum in Paris on Friday.
"Our
goal, our priority is to ensure your success. Your success means the
development and growth of our country", said Volodymyr Groysman appealing
to the representatives of French business.
"We
will do everything to guarantee your success in Ukraine, to ensure each euro,
dollar, hryvnia, that is invested in Ukraine be
protected, to make you feel that there is not just the reform process underway,
but these [reforms] also yield results", he stressed.
The Prime
Minister called on French businesses to actively invest in Ukraine.
"Invest in Ukraine, get income, re-invest it and be successful, while we
will strongly support this", emphasized the Head of Government.
Speaking
about the changes taking place in Ukraine, the Prime Minister noted that the
Government had structured the priorities of vital reforms. So, on the agenda of
the Government are as follows: change of the governance system, fight against
corruption, effective justice system, deregulation, massive privatization,
particularly in the pharmaceutical market.
In
particular, for the first time in 25 years, Ukraine has introduced the market
price for natural gas. Also, there was launched a reform of the customs
service, were elaborated amendments in tax legislation in order "to make it clear
and friendly to business."
In Ukraine there
have been shaped all necessary anti-corruption laws, which provide some of the
most stringent requirements for civil servants, said Volodymyr Groysman.
The Government
has taken other measures to make doing business in Ukraine more convenient and
safe. "Our goal is to create conditions in which you will have chance to
use your experience and capabilities, as well as the potential of Ukraine at 100%.
Only together we can succeed", stressed the Head of Government.
Volodymyr
Groysman noted that among the top priority sectors for investment in Ukraine
are energy, machine building, agriculture, pharmaceutics, IT, woodworking
industry, light industry, infrastructure, told Volodymyr
Groysman.
The
Government has engaged in an ongoing dialogue with business to understand their
daily problems and to respond effectively.
“You have
to form an agenda for us and we have to fulfill the tasks”, accentuated the
Prime Minister.
Volodymyr Groysman
said that Ukraine had improved its economic performance. According to him,
international trade of Ukraine has increased by 25%, notably,
during first half-year investment of France in Ukraine grew by 300 million.
"These are good signals that prove that it's only the beginning”, stressed
Volodymyr Groysman.
The Prime
Minister highlighted that Ukraine has all chances and the potential to be
successful.
“Ukraine is
facing unprecedented challenges, but Ukraine has unprecedented opportunities as
well. We accept each challenge as a chance to become better and stronger”, he
said.
“Our
capabilities are unsurpassed. There is potential for significant growth inside
the country. I wish we used the potential all together”, said Volodymyr
Groysman. A current objective of the Government is to address our weak points inside
the country, and step up the things enabling us to move forward and develop."
