The Government
calls on the Verkhovna Rada
of Ukraine to support the proposals on strengthening answerability for
committing grave crimes, particularly raiding. Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman said this
during A Question Time at the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on Friday.
"We
need your support to increase penalties for those who encroach on somebody’s
property, health, for those who rob apartments, God forbid, rape. We hope to
enlist the support of Parliament here and to ensure larger responsibility, to
toughen up punishment for such crimes", said Volodymyr
Groysman.
Speaking
about counteracting raiding, he noted that law enforcement personnel must first
protect such company from attackers, and then investigate circumstances of the capture.
In this regard
the Head of Government added that from October 1 the wages of employees of Criminal
Investigation Department had tripled.
"This
means that we will demand from the CID more effective action to combat
crime", he said.
Volodymyr
Groysman thanked the MPs for supporting changes to
the State budget for 2016, namely in respect of financing of the criminal
investigative service.
