The Government together with the factions and committees of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine agreed to increase twofold the funding to support the agricultural sector in the draft Budget for 2017 – to the tune of UAH 10 billion. Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman announced during consideration of the draft Law "On State Budget of Ukraine for 2017" in the first reading at the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on Thursday.
"We have agreed with the factions and the Committee
that a resource to back the agricultural sector will be at the level of UAH 10
billion. It means a twofold increase. This will give us the opportunity to
support Ukrainian agricultural producers", said Volodymyr Groysman.
The Head of Government noted that he had recently had a meeting with representatives of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Agrarian Policy and Land Relations.
"We must pay special attention to the national economy growth engine. We must do everything to ensure our agriculture products be competitive," he said.
