Government looks forward to the adoption by the Parliament of a bill which will remedy the so-called "Savchenko's law" next week
The
government looks forward to the adoption by the Verkhovna
Rada of Ukraine the draft law enabling us to resolve
the problem of the mass release of criminals due to the so-called "Savchenko's law" next week. This was announced by the Prime
Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman
during a meeting of the Regional Development Council under the chairmanship of
the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko on Tuesday.
"The Government
has drafted a law and submitted it to the Parliament. We expect that the
Parliament will adopt it next week in order to stop these criminal things
against the Ukrainian people," - Volodymyr Groysman said.
At the same
time, according to him, it is necessary to build effective mechanisms within
the country that will allow us to restore order on the streets, prevent
violations that threaten the life and health of citizens.
The Prime Minister
noted that according to the latest decision of the Council of National Security
and Defense of Ukraine the Government has addressed to the Parliament make the
necessary amendments into the State budget, which regulate the issue including
increasing funding for the criminal investigation.
