During his visit to the United Kingdom Ukraine’s Minister of Defence General Stepan Poltorak held talks with Chief of the Defence Staff of the United Kingdom Air Chief Marshal Sir Stuart Peach.

The parties agreed on development of cooperation between general staffs in order to improve the troops (forces) training process under the NATO standards.

Moreover, in the framework of his official visit to the UK, General Poltorak, Minister of Defence of Ukraine, held talks with Mr. Michael Fallon, Secretary of State for Defence of the United Kingdom.

The Ukraine’s Minister of Defence thanked for the UK assistance and stance, support for the defence reforms and for UK instructors.

“We plan to boost our consultative assistance. Next year 5,000 Ukrainian military will be trained under NATO standards — this is a new aim of the training mission of the United Kingdom in Ukraine,” Mr. Fallon said.
