Yesterday's
arson in the office of the National Information System", which is a
division of the Inter TV channel, requires an immediate and objective
investigation. The Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman announced
answering questions of journalists during the opening of an Interagency center for
the prevention and detecting violations of the national customs law and the
launch of the operation of 20 joint mobile groups on Monday.
"It is
crucial for the law enforcement agencies to give an appropriate response: who is
guilty, what was the purpose, and most importantly - to get those responsible
punished. Anyone who commits a crime - the government, a citizen, anyone -
should be held answerable. This is a key position, this is the key principle",
emphasized Volodymyr Groysman.
According
to him, such incidents come in handy only to those who would like to show that the
freedom of speech is jeopardized in Ukraine. Therefore, law enforcement bodies
are to find out as soon as possible who was the initiator of this provocation, what
were their reasons and to bring them to justice.
We are
building a democratic state of law, in which we should act only within the law,
to be held responsible for our actions in line with the law and at the same
time to be protected in our rights and freedoms by this law. All of us should
get accustomed to live and act this way and to show the world that we adhere to
these principles, said the Prime Minister.
"Everyone
should realize one thing: we are building a European, democratic, civilized
country. There should be a rule of law, in all its aspects", said Volodymyr
Groysman.
"I consider
that corruption and crime must be punished by the sentence of court. This is an
extremely important issue for our democracy, for our freedom and for our
European future," stressed the Prime Minister.
