Last week the Government adopted a decree granting the local budgets a subsidy amounting 97,994,600 hryvnas to finance vocational education. The decree had been elaborated by the Ministry of Finance.

The subsidy will make it possible to pay pending salaries and scholarships to teachers and students at institutions of vocational education. The Ministry of Finance has been consistently supporting regions which are affected by this problem. That is why it was decided to grant this subsidy to 20 cities of regional significance whose expenses for vocational education are higher than 20% of their total revenues.

The funding of vocational education can be finally settled after the adoption of the new Law “On Vocational Education”.
