The Government is
preparing a package of bills on the substantial reform of the payroll system
that will improve social standards and financial situation of the Ukrainian
people. In September, they together with the draft state budget for 2017 will
be submitted to the Verkhovna Rada
of Ukraine, Minister of Social Policy Andrii Reva has stated this was following a meeting of Prime
Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman
with representatives of the Federation of Trade Unions of Ukraine.
It is primarily
about raising the minimum wage and payroll legalization.
"The shadow
economy today makes up 40% of Ukraine's GDP, it is
almost UAH 200 billion. If we legalize at least 10%, the economy will start functioning,
which in turn will improve social standards of Ukrainians," said Andrii Reva.
According to him,
an increase in tariffs has become the litmus test that in our country,
according to estimates of the Social Policy Ministry, almost 9 out of 15
million households need state assistance for housing and communal services.
He informed that today
Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman has instructed to complete, taking into account the
requirements of the trade unions, a General tariff agreement.
"It will be
completed in the near future, we will sign it, and
most importantly – implement it. We and the unions have different vision on
many aspects, but we are united in the fact that the results of social dialogue
will have influence on improving the lives of Ukrainians," summed up Andrii Reva.
