About 50,000 women work and serve in the Armed Forces of Ukraine

Mr. Ihor Dolhov, Deputy Minister of Defence for European Integration, informed about it during a briefing in the National Ivan Chernyakhivskyi Defence University hosting the public event of high level on gender equity in defence and security of Ukraine.

“As of June 1, 2016, 49,552 women work and serve in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Among them there are 17,147 servicemen (8,5% of total strength of servicemen), including 2,092 officers (5,3%), 14,607 soldiers and sergeants (9,4%) and 32,405 civil servants,” Mr. Dolhov said.
