The Government
will continue to root out corruption that hampers to carry out reforms in all
spheres of life and deprives Ukraine and Ukrainians of their future. Ukrainian
Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman
stated this during the annual conference of the Center for US-Ukrainian
relations "Providing Ukraine with an Annual Report Card" in Washington
on Thursday, 16 June.
"Due to
corruption, there is no future for our country, that’s why we have to tackle
this challenge. Reforms provide us with opportunities and chance, and corruption
deprives us of this chance and takes away opportunities. We will be determined
to combat
this phenomenon," underlined Volodymyr Groysman.
The Prime
Minister informed the participants about the first steps the Government to combat
corruption in the economy.
As an example, Volodymyr Groysman gave the ProZorro e-procurement system implemented by the Government,
which ensured transparency and openness of procurement and saved public money.
The Cabinet of
Ministers also adopted a decision on the introduction of the single market-based
gas prices. It made it
possible to stop the abuse on the difference in gas prices.
