Volodymyr Groysman participated in a police swearing-in ceremony in Mariupol

Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman took part in the solemn ceremony of taking the oath by new police officers of Mariupol Police Department in the framework of a working visit to Donetsk region on Monday, May 30.

"You have sworn allegiance to the Ukrainian people. It is a very important moment in your professional life. None will deny that the law enforcement system of Ukraine needs change, and this change started from you, people who were chosen through extremely tough competition," Volodymyr Groysman told while congratulating the police officers.

The Head of Government noted that, out of 3.5 thousand candidates there had been shortlisted "best of the best to serve this beautiful and glorious town, which requires peculiar attention, peculiar support and peculiar devotion".

"This is the frontline town, which each day faces a lot of challenges, but your service, your honesty is what the Ukrainian citizens want to hear and feel. Mariupol citizens want to live in security, prosperity. Our present and future depends on you", said Volodymyr Groysman.

The Head of Government called on the police officers of Mariupol to remember about the confidence the residents of their hometown and the whole Ukraine placed on them to bear proudly the title of the Ukrainian police officer, as it is vital, it is very important for each Ukrainian citizen.

The Prime Minister wished the police every success, well-being and victory. "I would like that you to perform your tasks every day and came back healthy, you to remember those, who trust each of you, you to remember that you are responsible not only for yourself, but also for each of your comrades, wherever he/she performs his/her duties," he stressed.

"We will upgrade the judicial system, we will revive the national economy. We will do everything to trigger transformation in the law enforcement system. We will support you every day. We will do everything to ensure Ukraine becoming a modern independent democratic state", emphasized the Prime Minister.

Volodymyr Groysman presented a valuable gift to a defender of the Donetsk airport, acting chief of the patrol police of Mariupol Vitaly Horkun.
