Ukraine joins WTO Agreement on Government Procurement
Ukraine joins WTO Agreement on Government Procurement (GPA). The
Parliament has ratified Ukraine's accession to the Agreement on Government
Procurement (GPA) of the World Trade Organization. The WTO Committee on
Government Procurement GPA had already approved accession of Ukraine in
November 2015.
According to the procedure, the decision to join the Agreement enters
into force for Ukraine on the thirtieth day after the date of documents
deposited with the Director General of the WTO. Since then, the Ukrainian
producers can officially participate in public tenders of the member countries
of the WTO GPA - EU, USA, Korea, Taiwan, Singapore, Hong Kong, Canada and
others.
For Ukrainian companies joining to the WTO Agreement GPA means opening
access to the worldwide procurement market, which is estimated at USD1.7
trillion that is 30 times more than the volume of Ukrainian exports in 2014.
