"The real source enabling us to improve social standards considerably, and to finance the army, and start funding the programmes for employment and new jobs, is US$1.5 billion the sum that was arrested and is stored in the Savings Bank of Ukraine, but no judgement on asset forfeiture has been delivered for the two years ", stressed Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk during an Hour of Questions to the Government on Friday, February 19, at the Verkhovna Rada.

The Prime Minister said that had appealed to the Prosecutor's Office and the whole Ukrainian law enforcement system for several times to bring this case to end, to confiscate these assets.

"We will transfer them immediately to the state budget of the country. And I ask for the support of the Parliament and to ensure the adoption of a separate law to make it easier for prosecutors to perform their functions in confiscation of these funds", said the Prime Minister.
