The Government submits to the Parliament a draft Law "On the Rules of Integrity for Politicians" and adopts a resolution "On Approval of Rules of Ethical Conduct of Civil Servants". Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk declared at an open meeting of the Government streamed live on Thursday, 11 February.

He noted that this is an absolutely new approach for Ukraine, similar to that existing in the United States and member countries of the European Union.

"Minister does his job, holds meetings. And in case, if there arises any question, he should say whom he met and what they talked about. And if there wasn’t any conflict of interest", stressed the Head of Government.

Such materials, he said, should be submitted to the National Agency of Ukraine on Civil Service.

Arseniy Yatsenyuk stressed the need to establish an Inspector General Office on the basis of the National Agency on Civil Service: "This is a person that is authorized to conduct all of the official investigation".

"It is crucial to ensure the same procedure to be applied for political figures", he stressed. The Government will monitor the implementation of the decree by the executive branch: "Now it is important what will be done regarding this issue by the Parliament and the local self-government bodies which are not answerable to the Cabinet of Ministers".

"It is an essential principle of transparency", summed up Arseniy Yatsenyuk.
