On Friday, January 22, Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk and members of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine took part in the commemorative events dedicated to the Day of Unity of Ukraine.
They laid flowers to the monuments to Taras Shevchenko and Mykhailo Hrushevsky in Kiev.
The Prime Minister stressed: "History has taught us that when we are united, we have our own state, we win in unity and then we have the promising future for Ukraine".
"Throughout recent two years we have been fighting. And our joint struggle guarantees our joint victory," he said.
"Today for the Ukrainian society and the political elite it is crucial to be united in our striving to achieve an ambitious objective for our country, for each Ukrainian citizen – it is a successful, prosperous, sovereign and united country. A single country with Donetsk, Luhansk and Crimea", summed up Arseniy Yatsenyuk.
