General of the Army of Ukraine Stepan Poltorak, Minister of Defence of Ukraine, held talks with Maj. Gen. David W. Allvin, Director, Strategy and Policy, Headquarters U.S. European Command.

Mr. Geoffrey Pyatt, U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine, remarked new conditions for cooperation had been formed (in terms of long-term cooperation) and stressed the importance of common vision regarding the bilateral U.S.-Ukrainian Defence Cooperation.

The Defence Minister stressed that the state and MoD top officials considered the U.S.-Ukrainian defence cooperation as a key element in the increase of defensive capacity of Ukraine in the east of Ukraine.

“We have a detailed plan of army reforms,” Stepan Poltorak underlined, “We are going to implement the best practice of the Allied nations considering the features of our country.”

The Defence Minister said that all the achievements of foreign advisors working in the MoD and RAND conclusions would be used during development of a new structure of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine.

He thanked the U.S. partners for assistance and support.
