Ukraine appeals to the European partners with a request "to conduct a
harsh inspection of Nord Stream-2": "We consider this project should
be stopped, as it is neither in the interests of the European Union nor in the
interests of Ukraine", said Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk in
Brussels following the meeting of the EU – Ukraine Association Council Monday,
December 7th.
"Nord Stream-2
deprives of billions of dollars of revenue Ukraine, Slovakia and Poland, but also
deprives the European Union of real competition on the energy market and intensifies
the monopoly of the Russian Gazprom", he
stressed.
"We believe
that our European partners would consider any energy projects solely from the
point of view of compliance with the Third Energy Package", stressed the
Head of Ukrainian Government.
Moreover, Arseniy
Yatsenyuk emphasized that Naftogaz of Ukraine has today the best transportation
capabilities in Europe.
