On December 3, 2015 in Belgrade on the margins of the 22nd OSCE Ministerial meeting the 26th meeting of the GUAM Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs (CMFA) took place with the participation of Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin, the Republic of Azerbaijan Elmar Mammadyarov, Georgia Giorgi Kvirikashvili, Republic of Moldova Natalia Gherman.
The participants positively assessed Ukrainian Chairmanship in the Organization in 2015 noting the intensification of GUAM activities and improved coordination of member states in all areas of cooperation.
They stated real progress in the implementation of projects of cooperation, including the establishment of GUAM free trade zone, the implementation of the concept of the GUAM transport corridor, facilitation of trade and transport, strengthening of parliamentary cooperation component, enhancing cooperation of member states within the framework of the UN.
Deepening sectoral cooperation, expansion of cooperation with partner countries - Japan and the USA, establishing collaboration with the EU and the Visegrad Four were identified as priorities in GUAM further activities.
The CMFA adopted the Decision on transferring the Chairmanship in the Organization to the Republic of Azerbaijan from January 1, 2016.
