"The Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine considers as promising bilateral cooperation between Ukraine and the Netherlands in the agricultural sector. The Dutch experience in agricultural sector, particularly in the area of agricultural and dairy products, is of great importance for our country", said Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Oleksii Pavlenko during a meeting with Netherlands State Secretary for Economic Affairs and Minister for Agriculture Martijn van Dam.

According to Oleksii Pavlenko, over 10 months of 2015 the trade turnover of agricultural products with the Netherlands amounted to USD 504.1 million. The Netherlands is one of key trade partners of Ukraine among the EU countries.

During the meeting the parties discussed issues of harmonization of Ukrainian legislation with the standards and norms of the European Union, especially regarding the control of animal protection. Oleksii Pavlenko thanked for the expert technical assistance provided to Ukraine by the Kingdom of the Netherlands.

"For Ukraine it is of great importance the next session of the bilateral working group on agriculture. We are ready to coordinate the actions to establish an optimal date for both parties," summed up Oleksii Pavlenko.
