On Monday, November 23, Prime Minister of
Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk met with Minister of Foreign Affairs and European
Affairs of Belgium Didier Reynders and Minister for Foreign Affairs of Luxembourg Jean Asselborn.
The Prime
Minister of Ukraine expressed gratitude for the ratification of the Association
Agreement between Ukraine and the EU by Belgium and Luxembourg.
"No doubt,
the Agreement on free trade area with the EU will come into force on January 1.
The Government of Ukraine is very committed to this," he said.
Arseniy Yatsenyuk
reminded that the Ukrainian Government together with the Parliament had adopted
a number of laws necessary for visa liberalization: "We believe that the
report of the European Commission, which is due to be promulgated shortly, would
recognize that we have fulfilled the criteria for visa regime liberalization".
During the
meeting the interlocutors discussed issues of preventing the terrorism threat
in Europe.
Prime Minister of
Ukraine stressed that Ukraine faced Russian aggression - the illegal annexation
of Crimea, invasion of troops into Donetsk and Luhansk. He aired gratitude to
the Foreign Ministers of Belgium and Luxembourg for supporting the Ukrainian
people in their struggle for sovereignty and independence.
"We should
have a strong front against terrorism, terrorist attacks, to bring peace and
stability for our peoples", stressed the Head of Government of Ukraine.
