
Arseniy Yatsenyuk met with delegation of the House of Representatives of Japan
On Tuesday, September
29, Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk met with a delegation of the House of
Representatives of the Japanese Parliament headed by Chairman of the
Ukrainian-Japanese Parliamentary Friendship League, Eisuke
Mori.
Representatives of
the Japanese Parliament confirmed strong support for the independence and
territorial integrity of Ukraine and expressed their readiness to prolong
active assistance in the process of pursuing reforms in Ukraine and to deepen
bilateral cooperation, particularly in the economic field and in the area of advancement
of aftermath response to accidents at nuclear power stations.
Arseniy Yatsenyuk
expressed gratitude to the Japanese officials for the solidarity with our state
at the time when our country faces exceptional trials as a result of Russian
aggression against the independence and territorial integrity of Ukraine.
The meeting
participants stressed the joint position of Ukraine and Japan regarding prohibition
to change borders, violation of territorial integrity and basic principles of
international law, noting the importance to strengthen international security.
Apart from that, the
parties discussed a range of issues related to countering Russian aggression.
They exchanged views on ways of reforming the UN Security Council.
