PM says Government prohibits Aeroflot flights to Ukraine and use of Russian software in government agencies
Under the NSDC’s decision,
the Ukraine’s Government comes to a resolution to ban flights of Russian
airlines, primarily Aeroflot and Transaero companies to Ukraine - Prime
Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk stated at a meeting of the Cabinet of
Ministers on Friday, 25 September.
The Cabinet of
Ministers also prohibits transit flights of Russian airlines via Ukraine,
"if they contain military goods, dual use or Russian military
manpower."
He asked to inform
the Russian side about this decision, "Russian aircraft with Russian
tricolor have nothing to do in Ukrainian airports."
Arseniy Yatsenyuk
also noted that, according to the NSDC’s decision, there is a direct ban on the
use of Russian software. He noted that it was particularly about Kaspersky Lab software.
The Head of the Government instructed the State Special Communications Service
of Ukraine to immediately disable the program’s updating, stop its acquisition
as well as use in government agencies.
"There is a
clear demand to all executive agencies - to prohibit participation in public
procurement those companies subject to sanctions in order to prevent them from having
access to the budgetary resources of the country," said Arseniy Yatsenyuk.
The Prime
Minister reminded that the decision of the National Security and Defense
Council of Ukraine, enacted by the Decree of the President of Ukraine, imposed personal
sanctions on certain entities of the Russian Federation: "The first steps
have been already undertaken, first of all, it
concerns Ukrzaliznytsia."
"The Government
insists on the immediate application of sanctions set out by the decision of
the National Security Council," he stressed.
Arseniy Yatsenyuk
addressed the Sanctions Committee to continuously monitor the implementation of
sanctions. If necessary, he pointed out, - it is possible to change and expand the
NSDC decision with additional names and companies.
"The
responsibility for sanctions lies personally on the heads of central executive
bodies and directors of the state-owned enterprises. The head of each executive
agency should provide full implementation of the decision of the National
Security and Defense," the Prime Minister emphasised.
