On Wednesday, September 23, in the framework of his working trip to Poltava, Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk along with Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Arsen Avakov kicked off recruitment to a new patrol police in Poltava.

Arseniy Yatsenyuk noted that for the first hour after the recruitment advertisement 520 Poltava’s citizens applied for joining a new police. The contest selection across the country makes up about 20 people for a position. The salaries of the new police officers in Poltava will be the same as in Kyiv and other cities – 8,000 to 10,000 hryvnias.

He informed that patrol police officers are scheduled to start their work in the streets of Poltava in February-March next year. The Head of the Government asked the Minister of Internal Affairs to speed up this process, if possible.

Arseniy Yatsenyuk also said that on Saturday, September 26, he and the Interior Minister will launch recruitment to a new police in Kharkiv.

He recalled the words of Liudmyla Shevchenko, a patrol police officer from Kyiv, who, referring to Poltava citizens, said about the necessity of faith in themselves and the possibility of changes: "I want to appeal to everyone who came to submit your application, or just observe recruitment to a new police. Changes imply a bilateral process. If you want changes, then let’s do them. The same way as do these young people who have completely changed their lives. Someone was a trade representative, someone a hairdresser, someone worked at a storehouse. But they said to themselves, "We will start to study, pass tests, obtain the officer's rank, status of patrol police officer, we will protect the country, receive a decent wage and the most important thing is to get respect from Ukrainian citizens."

"We have to applaud to such people as she is. It is how the country is being built. The same way will be built a new police in the city of Poltava," said the Prime Minister.

Arseniy Yatsenyuk addressed Poltava’s citizens: "Let’s come, submit your application and undergo training. And we are looking forward to new police officers on the streets of Poltava."
