Arseniy Yatsenyuk met with Slovak Parliament Speaker Peter Pellegrini in Bratislava

On Thursday, September 10, Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk met with Speaker of the National Council of the Slovak Republic Peter Pellegrini in the framework of the working visit to Bratislava.

The Prime Minister of Ukraine has stressed that he appreciates relationships and partnership between Ukraine and Slovakia, based on solidarity and specific deeds.

Arseniy Yatsenyuk reminded that the National Council of Slovakia was one of the first that ratified the Ukraine - EU Association Agreement.

The Prime Minister also expressed gratitude for the humanitarian initiatives of the Slovak Parliament, concerning in particular the treatment of Ukrainian children from Luhansk region.

"We appreciate the assistance by Slovak experts, cooperating with the Government of Ukraine, in particular in the area of tax reform," Arseniy Yatsenyuk said.

Peter Pellegrini has emphasised that Slovakia supports Ukraine and always speak from a position of integrity and inviolability of the frontiers. The Slovak position is unambiguous, including condemnation of the illegal annexation of Crimea, underlined the Head of the Slovak Parliament.

The sides discussed a range of issues of bilateral cooperation, in particular the activation of inter-parliamentary cooperation, trade cooperation between Ukraine and Slovakia, as well as cross - border movement.

The parties separately discussed the security issue and the consolidation of efforts for the peaceful settlement of the situation in Eastern Ukraine.
