Arseniy Yatsenyuk commissions to ensure purchase of firefighting equipment and the transfer of fuel from the State Reserve to SES
On Friday, August 14,
during a meeting of the State Commission on technogenic and environmental
safety and emergencies, Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk instructed relevant
authorities to speed up a procedure of public procurement of fire fighting
equipment and to ensure the transfer of fuel from the State Reserve Agency to the
State Emergency Service of Ukraine.
The Head of
Government stressed that there had been allotted UAH 200 million for the public
procurement procedure, so he commissioned to figure out the situation with the purchase
of firefighting equipment. "We had a meeting in
this issue on June 15. I have such a perfect reference. Everything has been
fulfilled, everything has been done. Hence, there shouldn’t be any fire in the
country. Each administration has reported. Each Ministry has reported. However, in fact things are different", said Arseniy Yatsenyuk.
The Prime Minister ordered
to appeal to the Antimonopoly Committee and to expedite the process of considering
the tender.
“Now we have a new
leadership of the Antimonopoly Committee, as far as I know, they have now a much
more transparent procedure. Please, address them, consider
it publicly, as the time flies. It has been 2 months since then, and we still lack
new equipment", stressed the Head of Government.
Apart from that, Arseniy
Yatsenyuk appealed to the Ministry of Economy with a demand together with the
State Reserve Agency to submit a draft directive of the Government on urgent delivery
of aviation fuel to the State Emergency Service.
